Q: How does ClickSight® work? A: Through an online survey, we ask permission from participants, assuring them that all data gathered about their personal use of software applications will be kept absolutely anonymous. • First, we define a set of hundreds, or thousands, of software users whose computer behavior matches the specific needs identified by our client. • Then, we ask participants to install ClickSight for a defined period of time. Once installed, ClickSight anonymously collects data about participants' use of applications. They are easily able to uninstall the program at any time, but working with our client, we offer incentives to remain in the survey. • Depending on the parameters of the survey, our clients gain information about the use of their applications, along with information about any other applications the participants use. Our clients can identify the most and least-used features of any application. • Through in-depth analysis and segmentation, ClickStream Technologies provides clients with suggestions for growth, marketing strategy, and the elimination of inefficiencies in developing and deploying software. Q: How do you select participants for the surveys? A: Participants are screened based on criteria defined by our clients. By receiving an invitation, the participant has been selected as an important user who can help our clients learn about how to improve their software or software licensing and deployment strategy based on how participants work. Q: Will I notice ClickSight® running on my computer? A: No. ClickSight will not slow down computer processes. ClickSight is a non-interactive program that runs in the background of your computer. If desired, ClickSight is easy to uninstall. Q: How long do surveys usually last? A: This depends on each client's needs (see Products and Services). We ask participants to keep ClickSight installed for a minimum of 30 days. For long term studies, data can be collected for years so we can offer updates that identify trends in application use. Q: How does ClickSight® differ from spyware? A: Spyware is defined as malicious software designed to intercept or take partial control of a computer's operation without the informed consent of that machine's owner or legitimate user. It also slows a computer’s performance through CPU use, hard drive use and network traffic while making personal information, such as credit card numbers, available to others. Spyware even increases the probability of getting a virus. - Wikipedia, “Spyware”   ClickSight is never downloaded without clear consent of the participant. ClickStream Technologies asks permission from the participants, and then participants themselves install ClickSight. ClickSight will not slow down computer systems nor identify personal information. ClickSight can be easily uninstalled at any time, although we typically ask that participants keep it installed for 30 days. The entire program takes up less memory than an average .jpg picture or a 45-second audio clip. It only operates while the computer is inactive, eliminating any interference with other processes. ClickSight is a closed system. Participants download ClickSight from a secure server, and data is sent directly back to our server. The transfer is direct and anonymous. No personal information, such as a participant's name or address, is recorded, so personal information never leaves the computer. The data ClickSight collects is used solely for research within the context of a specific study, and that data is never shared with outside companies.
